In accordance with New Zealand Land Transport Safety Authority regulations, RentaTriumph is a transport service licence holder, and authorised to operate a rental service. All motorcycles available for hire are regularly serviced and maintained by experienced Triumph mechanics.

Licensing Requirements  

• You must be 25 years of age to rent a motorcycle.

• Possess a valid motorcycle license applicable to the type and capacity of the motorcycle hired.

• You have not had your motor vehicle license revoked in the last 2 years.

• You must have had at least 2 Years motorcycle riding experience

Conditions of Hire -

• Two forms of identification including photo ID are required
• Foreign license holders must produce their passport and motorcycle license  
• NZ license holders must produce two forms of identification including photo ID
• Riding of motorcycles on anything other than sealed roads is not permitted  
• Any speeding or parking fines are the responsibility of the hirer to pay
• Motorcycles must be returned with a full tank of petrol 
• RentaTriumph strongly recommend you take out your own personal travel insurance policy to cover yourselves in the event of having to cancel or interrupt your travel plans through unforeseen circumstances.

Insurance - 

• Medical Insurance - New Zealand's ACC, (Accident Compensation Corporation), covers your medical expenses for any vehicle accident you may suffer whilst you are visiting. RentaTriumph strongly recommend you take out your own personal travel insurance policy to cover yourselves in the event of accident or ill health.

• All RentaTriumphs come with full comprehensive insurance cover and 24hr roadside assistance. A security bond off NZ $2500 to cover the insurance excess will need to be paid by Visa or MasterCard when picking the motorcycle up for rental and will be fully refundable on the return of the undamaged motorcycle. 

• The Hirer is responsible for any damage to the motorcycle during the rental period except in the case of a third party accident proved to be caused by another party. Damage to the Motorcycle, loss of keys etc will be repaired or replaced and deducted from your security bond. The Insurance excess of $2500 can be lowered to a $1000 excess by paying an extra $40 a day on a minimun 7 day hire.

Deposit, Final Payment and Security\Insurance Bond - 

• A 25% deposit of the total rental cost is required by Electronic transfer to reserve your motorcycle. Another Electronic transfer will be required 1 calendar Month prior to your rental date to pay the total rental cost in full, or if you wish you can pay via NZ dollars when picking up the motorcycle. Paying the bike rental portion of the payment with Visa or MasterCard will incur a 3% surcharge imposed on us by the banks.

Change of Motorcycle - If the booked motorcycle is unavailable due to a prior rental accident or mechanical repairs, RentaTriumph reserve the right to replace the motorcycle with a comparable model. We will advise you in advance, with as much notice as circumstances allow, so that you may select another motorcycle or make alternative arrangements.

Cancellations - At least a Months notice for cancellation of motorcycles is required. Less than a Months notice will incur the loss of the 50% deposit as late notice could have impacted our ability to rent the motorcycle to other parties.

Minimum Rental Period - Is two days 

Early Returns of Motorcycle - If a motorcycle is contracted out and returned early at the hirers discretion there will be no refund.

Late Returns of Motorcycle - If motorcycles are returned later than the specified drop off time they will be charged on a per day basis at double the rates.

Tyre Damage - Motorcycle tyres will be inspected prior to the bike being hired. The renter will be fully liable for any tire damage done by malicious use i.e. burnouts.

Rental Location - (Motorcycle Collection and Return) will be Christchurch City unless by prior agreement where a relocation fee will be applicable.
